Research profile
I am a PhD student at the Center for Theoretical Physics PAS in the Warsaw-4-PhD Doctoral School. Under the supervision of Prof. Krzysztof Pawłowski, I study the statistical properties of ultracold quantum gases, focusing on how constraints on particle number and energy affect fluctuations and correlations in finite systems. In particular, I investigate condensate occupation statistics and the differences between grand-canonical, canonical and microcanonical descriptions.
I develop analytical and numerical methods for calculating occupation-number distributions, condensate fluctuations and correlation functions. I am currently extending these studies from ideal Bose gases to interacting one-dimensional systems, especially the Lieb–Liniger model, using Yang–Yang thermodynamics, Luttinger-liquid theory and field-theoretical methods. I also participate in an international collaboration on quantum impurities and polaron physics.
My other interests include the foundations of quantum mechanics and relativistic quantum theory. In collaboration with Prof. Iwo Białynicki-Birula, I have worked on quantum backflow, vortex structures in electromagnetic fields and problems related to the Dirac equation. I also serve as a doctoral-student representative and Secretary of the Scientific Council of CTP PAS, and I am involved in teaching and science outreach.
