About the Position and CFT PAN
We are looking for a Technology Broker to join the newly established Quantum-Assisted Computing Center at CFT PAN — the first scientific unit in Poland dedicated to applying quantum effects in computing.
The Center for Theoretical Physics, Polish Academy of Sciences (CFT PAN), conducts theoretical physics research in areas such as quantum information, cosmology and gravity, semiconductors, and atomic gases. CFT PAN fosters top-level researchers by giving them freedom to conduct research, resulting in high-ranking publications, grants, and participation in international consortia.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Identification of valuable intellectual property and strategies for its protection, including patent strategy analysis;
- Facilitating development of legal regulations and securing the IP of the Quantum-Assisted Computing Center;
- Supporting collaboration with industry and promoting quantum technologies to potential investors;
- Monitoring and evaluating scientific outcomes for commercialization and practical applications;
- Market analysis and supporting research teams in quantum computing, AI assisted by photons, and certification;
- Patent landscape analysis in relevant areas, preparation of patent drafts and claims verification;
- Collaboration with patent attorneys and support in filing patents;
- Organizing trainings and workshops to develop innovation competencies among project staff;
- Knowledge transfer, commercialization strategy, and representing the Center in business and legal contacts;
- Preparing reports and grant applications.

Candidate Profile
- Minimum 1-year experience in an independent position, especially in IP management and commercialization of R&D results in research institutions;
- Practical knowledge of IP management and commercialization regulations;
- Master’s degree (or equivalent);
- Strong communication skills and openness to collaboration.
