Theory of Quantum Open Systems and Decoherence has been gaining an importance recently not only in quantum technological applications but also in our understanding of quantum theory. The main research objective of the group is to develop modern theory of quantum open systems and decoherence processes and apply it to such fundamental problems as understanding of the quantum-to-classical transition. The research effort goes from general topics such as information flow in open systems, quantum Darwinism and Spectrum Broadcast Structure (SBS) ideas and alike, to studies of concrete models of quantum open systems and experimental implementations. Research interests of the group also include questions in other fields, like quantum thermodynamics, quantum information theory, mathematical physics, and  gravitation/quantum mechanics interplay.
