We conduct research at the intersection of quantum optics and solid-state physics, particularly semiconductor physics. This includes studies of polaritons, quantum particles that are superpositions of photons and electronic excitations. Our research is often conducted in collaboration with experimental groups, allowing for rapid verification of theoretical results.

We devote significant attention to applying light-matter interactions to machine learning. The goal of this research is to construct devices that are faster and more energy-efficient than current computers, for applications such as artificial intelligence.

The group at CFT was established in 2023 and is led by Professor Michał Matuszewski.
