About us
The Center for Theoretical Physics of the Polish Academy of Sciences (CFT PAN) is a research institute focused on theoretical physics. CFT PAN was founded in 1980 and is located in Warsaw.
The Institute conducts research in various areas of physics, including quantum information, astrophysics and gravity, semiconductors, and atomic gases. Our strategy is to recruit the strongest researchers and provide them with scientific freedom. As a result, CFT PAN holds a leading position in Poland, publishes world-class research (including papers in *Nature* and *Science*), manages numerous grants (approx. 30 projects), and participates in international consortia. In terms of citations per researcher, CFT PAN is among the top institutions in Polish physics.
CFT PAN also organizes scientific events such as seminars, workshops, and conferences open to the public, and produces educational materials published on the Institute’s YouTube channel.
