We are astronomers and physicists, and we are passionate about computational astrophysics. The group is led by prof. Agnieszka Janiuk.

Our astrophysics group at CFT studies the properties of plasma in the immediate vicinity of cosmic black holes, across the entire range of their masses. We study the processes of accretion and outflow of matter from the vicinity of black holes using numerical computer simulation methods. We try to confront the results of the calculations with the data available thanks to the observations of the sky in the range of high energies.

The team has been in operation at the Center for theoretical Physics PAS since 2011, we cooperate with scientists from many institutions in Poland and abroad.
