In my thesis, we use Lyman alpha absorption in the spectrum of quasars and quasar pairs, to study their environment in Mpc scales. In this context, we also increase the available sample of quasar pairs and lensed quasars to study the tomography of the IGM at various length scales. The key outcomes of my thesis are the utilization of the same quasars to explore both the transverse and the longitudinal directions along with detailed simulation to validate the optical depth-dependent ionization correction on the pixel optical depth to constraint the overdensity profile and parameterize its dependence on various cosmological parameters and UVB models.
Currently, as a postdoctoral researcher at CFT, I am exploring machine learning as a tool to understand the selection bias for the galaxy catalogue.
