"Entanglement and decoherence of ultracold gases"
financed by National Science Center in frame of the competition SONATA 7Project  main idea
The topic is on the border between Quantum Information and physics of ultracold gases. There exist relatively simple conceptually schemes, which use either collisions between atoms or interaction between light and matter, to produce highly entangled atomic state (including even the Schroedinger cat). Unfortunately, always the entangling unitary dynamics is assisted by dissipative procesess, killing the quantum coherence.The aim of the project is to find the limitations of such schemes, including the unavoidable decoherence processes.
