XXX General Assembly of the International Astronomical Union

The XXXth General Assembly of the International Astronomical Union took place on August 20-31, in Vienna.

The Assembly consisted of six symposia and 22 parallel focus meetings, accompanied by many plenary sessions, exhibitions, shows, discussions and concerts. The meeting was attended by over 3000 participants from all over the world, including about 100 journalists.  Five new Resolutions were presented and voted on at the General Assembly, and the resolution B4 aims to the renaming of the Hubble law into the “Hubble-Lemaitre” law.
