The resort village of Koscielisko, near Zakopane is located 100 km from Cracow, in the Tatra Mountains. The Tatra area offers not only ample opportunities for hiking, but is also rich in local highly original folklore. The weather in the second part of June is uncertain. It could be either warm and nice or rainy and cold. More ambitious hikers should bring good hiking boots and the raingear. Above 2000m there will be snow. Trails in high mountains may be dangerous.
